IMPORTANT — READ CAREFULLY. This is a SOURCE-AVAILABLE license. The source code is published so You can read it, run it and change it for Your own use. It is NOT an open-source license and must not be described as one: it does not permit redistribution, and an open-source licence does. If You do not agree to these terms, do not install, copy, run, or use this software.

1. DEFINITIONS

"Software" means the Vibe Coder Playground desktop application and all of its source code, compiled builds, bundled assets, documentation, the roadmap system it installs (scripts/roadmap.py and scripts/roadmap-engine.py) and the skill documents that accompany it, and any updates provided by the Licensor. "Licensor" means the copyright holder named above. "You" means the individual or entity exercising rights under this License. "Third Party" means anyone other than You and, where You are an entity, Your employees and contractors acting for You.

2. WHAT YOU MAY DO

Subject to Your compliance with this License, the Licensor grants You a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to READ the source code of the Software, to INSTALL and RUN it on devices You own or control, to MAKE COPIES of it for Your own internal use and for backup, and to MODIFY it for Your own internal use — including using it, and anything You build with it, commercially. No other rights are granted, whether by implication, estoppel, or otherwise. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

Except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law, You may NOT, and may not permit any Third Party to:

(a) distribute, publish, mirror, publicly fork, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, lend, or otherwise make the Software — or any modified or derivative version of it — available to any Third Party, whether for a fee or free of charge;

(b) offer the Software, or a derivative of it, to Third Parties as a hosted or managed service;

(c) remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, license, authorship, or attribution notice in the Software, or present the Software or any part of it under a different name, logo, or brand as though it were Your own work (in this License, "rebranding");

(d) use the Software to build, train, or operate a competing product or service; or

(e) use the Licensor's name, logo, or branding without prior written consent.

Sections 3(a) and 3(c) are the restrictions this License exists for: RESELLING AND REBRANDING ARE NOT PERMITTED. Reading, running and modifying for Your own use are.

4. OWNERSHIP

The Software is licensed, not sold. The Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights. This License does not grant You any rights to trademarks or service marks of the Licensor.

5. WHAT THIS LICENSE DOES NOT COVER

Three things travel with the Software under their own, more permissive terms, and nothing in this License narrows them:

(a) REGISTRY BLOCKS. Each block in registry/blocks/ carries its own LICENSE file — the MIT License, verbatim, under a Vibe Coder Playground LLC copyright line. A block copied into Your application is Yours to use, change, ship and sell under those terms.

(b) WHAT THE SOFTWARE GENERATES FOR YOU. Application code the Software scaffolds or writes into Your own project is Yours; pick whatever license You like for it. The exceptions are the two roadmap files named in Section 1, which remain the Licensor's work under this License wherever they are installed.

(c) THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS. The Software includes third-party open-source components, each governed by its own license (see the dependencies declared in package.json and their respective notices). Nothing in this License limits Your rights, or expands Your obligations, under those licenses with respect to those components.

6. TERMINATION

This License terminates automatically if You breach any of its terms. On termination, You must stop using and destroy all copies of the Software. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU BEAR THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR THIS LICENSE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE LICENSOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE, OR USD $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

9. GENERAL

This License is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. This License is the entire agreement between You and the Licensor regarding the Software.
