Get Found: Search and Sharing
You launched. Now what? For most first apps the honest answer is: nothing, because nobody knows it exists.
Being findable splits into two halves, and it matters to keep them apart.
The half you control today
On-page is everything about your own pages. You can fix all of it this afternoon, and it is measurable — either the tag is there or it is not.
- A title that says what the page is. It is the blue line in search results and the browser tab. Every page needs its own.
- A description — a sentence or two summarizing the page. Often the gray text under the title in results.
- One main heading per page, matching what the page is actually about.
- Sharing tags, so a pasted link becomes a card with a title, description and picture instead of a bare URL. Missing these is why some links look broken when shared.
- Alt text on images — describing the picture for people using screen readers, and for search engines.
- Crawlability — search engines must be able to read the page. A page that renders entirely after the fact can look empty to them.
- A sitemap — a list of your pages, so nothing is missed.
AI-generated apps commonly ship with a default title like "React App" on every page and no sharing tags at all. It is not a hard fix; it is just never asked for.
The half you cannot fake
Off-page is everything outside your site — who links to you, what you rank for, how much traffic you get. It takes time, and no tool can conjure it.
Be suspicious of anything promising instant rankings. What an honest tool can do is measure the on-page half properly and give you a plan for the rest.
That is how the Playground's SEO audit works: it scores the on-page half from your actual HTML into a measured 0–100, pulls out the keywords your content is genuinely about, and produces a plan for the off-page half rather than inventing numbers it cannot know.
The thing that actually works
Write something genuinely useful about the problem your app solves, for the people who have that problem. It is slower than any trick and it is the only reliable route.
You are reading a course that exists partly for that reason. That is not a secret worth keeping.
